This site is dedicated to the memory of Craig Bridgeman.

Best friend, hero, and confident, we all have one. They fill our hearts with love, hope, determination, and happiness. But, on October 17, 2010 Sue Bridgeman’s heart broke as she lost all of this when her son was killed in a car accident. He left behind his legacy and memory with his now 3 year old daughter, Riley. His spark and determination lives on in this sweet, little girl. While she may have some big shoes to fill, there is no doubt that she is capable. Craig was a loving and devoted father. Craig and Riley loved to camp out in the family room and spend time with their family. The two of them were inseparable when around each other. While Craig’s time here on Earth was short lived; the wonderful memories he created will live on forever. But, for this sad, broken hearted mother all she has are memories. She has not seen her granddaughter, her son’s legacy, in over 9 months. Since her son’s death in October, she has had no communication with Riley. This mother has had her heart broken in the worst possible way and it continues to break more and more as each day passes by that she is unable to see this little girl’s smile and the spark she has to light up the whole room the way her father, Craig, did. She continues to fight for visitation of her granddaughter. Every court date, lawyer meeting, and silent moment is a reminder of her pain and empty heart. She prays not only to see Riley again but for Riley to remember, love, and honor her father. As a mother myself, I cannot begin to imagine what my dear friend is going through. While I try to offer words of hope and wisdom, I find myself left speechless and unable to completely understand what she feels everyday of her life. I wish that I could take away her pain, her tears, and her helplessness. Best friend, hero, and confidant are what Sue Bridgeman is to me. She is the purest example of all of these and a true inspiration. She will continue to honor her son’s legacy by holding an annual soft ball tournament during the month of August in Troy, IL. Please feel free to leave any words of encouragement or prayer.
